Try your hand at this scrumptious, cast-iron baked Autumn Applesauce!
Ingredients:

2 pounds apples (4-5 large apples),cored and cut into small pieces

1/2 cup water

2 Tablespoons maple syrup

1 lemon juiced

1 teaspoon vanilla
-
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
-
1 teaspoon cardamom
Instructions:
- Pre-heat oven to 250 degrees.
- Add all ingredients to your skillet over medium heat.
- Once simmering, reduce to medium-low heat and simmer for 25-30 minutes, until apples are soft.
- Mash apples using a fork or potato masher until applesauce is your desired consistency.
- Taste and add more maple syrup for sweetness or more lemon juice for tartness.
- Place skillet in the oven for 25 minutes, or until the top of the applesauce starts to glaze. Take it out and let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
